Are People Really Dying From COVID-19 Vaccines?

This morning I came across an article from Gateway Pundit entitled, “According to VAERS Website: There Were 3,296 COVID Vaccine Deaths in US Since July 24 – Or an Average of 70 Deaths per Day.” To say the least I was intrigued, and after reading the article was quite concerned. Concerned that there may be serious side effects, even death, being caused by or triggered by COVID-19 vaccines at extreme levels. Why isn’t this information being shouted from the rooftops? Is it actually accurate? How does it compare to other vaccines?

According to that article a scary looking graph (below) compiled by OpenVAERS which is supposedly derived by data from the CDC’s VAERS (Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System). This graph begins in 1990 and tracks deaths reported to VAERS by individuals, healthcare providers or any interested party. Now, it’s important to understand VAERS is self-reporting and may not be a complete picture and the CDC cautions to that effect. But, even taking that into account it certainly appears there have been a significant number of vaccine-attributed deaths and other issues caused by COVID-19 vaccines.

According to the OpenVAERS graph deaths caused by or occurring not long after various vaccinations and reported to the CDC ranged from a low of 80 in 1990, up to 605 reported in 2019. Then shot up like a hockey stick to 14,701 in 2021.

Wanting to verify these numbers myself I went to the CDC’s VAERS reporting tool and pulled the following reports. Although the numbers I am seeing from VAERS are somewhat lower than those according to OpenVAERS they are still very stark. Both the number of reported deaths from COVID-19 vaccines as compared to other vaccines, and for those reporting serious side effects immediately or not long after receiving a COVID-19 vaccination. I have no idea why the numbers I am seeing directly in the VAERS reporting tool vary from those on OpenVAERS, but in both cases there are clearly a significant number of deaths and other reported issues attributed to COVID-19 vaccines.

Searching VAERS

Searching through VAERS is daunting at first as there are numerous selection criteria and options, but after watching the helpful CDC “How to Search VAERS” video and doing a few searches myself I started to get some interesting results. The first of which are the number of reported deaths in VAERS, sorted by number reported in descending order. The results are shocking!

Number of vaccination related deaths according to CDC’s VAERS.

According to my search (this link will use the exact search criteria I used and should provide similar results, although depending on when you click the link the numbers will likely increase) there have been a reported 7416 deaths attributed to COVID-19 vaccines. This is nearly 5.5 times the number attributed to the second-most deaths caused by vaccines, and around half of all reported vaccine-related (or caused) deaths in the US since 1990.

Serious Effects of COVID-19 Vaccines

Searching the VAERS database with the selection criteria including serious/permanent effects and hospitalization, including ER visits, again there are significantly higher reported issues attributed to COVID-19 vaccines than any other. According to the data there have been 94,021 events reported with these criteria attributed to COVID-19 vaccines. That’s nearly three times higher than the second and third most reported vaccine-related serious issues, from influenza and MMR vaccines respectively. Link to results using these criteria.

In my final search of the adverse effects of various vaccines we are looking at all reported events. Whether it’s death, serious adverse reactions, hospitalization or minor reactions again those reported attributed to COVID-19 vaccines dwarf all other vaccine-related issues. All reported COVID-19 vaccine-related events tally 557,726, with the next highest (influenza) coming in at a relative paltry 93,218. Link to results including all reported events.

COVID-19 Vaccine Problems Compared to Influenza

Another factor which should really put this into perspective is to consider that all of these other vaccines have been around for years, decades even. As compared to COVID-19 which hasn’t even been available for a full year yet. So if we consider that how many reports per year occur with influenza for example (see below) the highest from a single year was 14,762 (2009). That is .026% of COVID-19 reported issues. Put another way COVID-19 reported vaccine issues are nearly 38 times as many as those for influenza from the highest reported year. And we are only 3/4 through 2021, so these numbers will certainly diverge considerably. See influenza issues by year.

Which COVID-19 Vaccine is Most Deadly?

That then begs the question, is any particular COVID-19 vaccine worse/better than the others. The answer is that Moderna and Pfizer are about the same and the Janssen (Johnson & Johnson) isn’t quite as bad. Therefore, we may really want to know more about mRNA technology (used for Moderna and Pfizer vaccines), especially for experimental vaccines, before rushing to clinics to get the shot. If you really feel like you want to or need to get vaccinated for COVID-19 it appears the Janssen vaccine is the least deadly of the three. Check for yourself.

Safe and Effective?

We are regularly being told that all COVID-19 vaccines are safe and effective, and that everyone needs to get at least one shot of the vaccine. Yet, after reviewing these numbers one should really take pause and consider if the potential benefits (which are dubious at best) outweigh the negatives, which are demostrably higher than any other vaccine ever! Beyond that there appears to be absolutely no reason for kids to get a COVID-19 vaccine!
